The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has divided Singapore into three main regions, which are Core Central Region (CCR), Rest of Central Region (RCR) and the Outside Central Region (OCR).
Outside Central Region (OCR)
When looking at a map of Singapore’s districts, you’ll see that the Outside Central Region (OCR) is almost three-quarters the size of the city. These are the places where most mass-market condos in the lower price range, as well as executive condominiums (ECs), are located.
The OCR is a very practical and affordable housing choice even for individuals who work in the city, with resale condo rates as low as $800 per square foot. Despite being located outside of the core districts, many people prefer to live in this area because of Singapore’s extensive public transportation system.
